Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers (CIBSE)
In 1976, the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) was granted a Royal Charter. Their main goal is to: 'Support the Science, Art, and Practise of Building Services Engineering by offering first-rate information and education services to our members and the public, and by encouraging the spirit of brotherhood that guides our work.' The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) promotes the career of building services engineers by accrediting courses of study in further and higher education, approving work-based training programmes, and providing routes to achieve full professional Registration and Membership, including Chartered Engineer, Incorporated Engineer, and Engineering Technician. Once qualified, CIBSE provides a variety of services aimed at sustaining and improving professional excellence throughout a career.Members are not required to complete a certain number of hours of CPD. Instead, members should concentrate on the outcomes of CPD activities that are relevant to the individual and their job function in order to maintain and improve competence.
