Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA)
The Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) is the largest intellectual property governing body in the United Kingdom. They represent the interests of the UK's 2,400 practising patent attorneys and other IP professionals before stakeholders and policymakers at the national and international levels, ensuring that the UK remains a world-leading innovation hub. All qualified CIPA paralegals are encouraged to complete at least eight (8) hours of CPD each calendar year. There is no necessity to dedicate a specified number of hours to each subject. Instead, CIPA paralegals should make their own decisions, taking into account their present skills and the nature of their employment.
