Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST)
The International Professional Body and Learned Society for All Marine Professionals is known as IMarEST, or the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science, and Technology. This is the first and largest organization to combine marine engineers, scientists, and technologists into a single, multidisciplinary professional body. They unite members from over 120 countries. They are a registered non-profit organisation that offers membership grades to everyone, including those who are just beginning their careers or are pursuing higher education. The IMarEST expects all of its members to engage in the necessary CPD for the advancement of their careers because it understands how important it is. The IMarEST Code of Conduct mandates that each member maintain and advance their professional competence, but there are no set hours.
