About Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE)

Institution of Fire Engineers, which was established in 1918, evaluates fire knowledge and professional expertise by granting membership grades and fire-related credentials that are recognized globally. The IFE unites suitably qualified members nad helps them to become Chartered Engineers (CEng), Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and Engineering Technicians (Eng Tech) through its Engineering Council license as a Professional Engineering Institution (PEI). The IFE fire community offers learning opportunities all over the world, and it administers over 6, 000 fire-related exams annually, which are necessary for many fire and rescue services to improve both domestically and internationally. A minimum of 25 CPD hours is required per year - 75 over the course of three years. It is advised that at least 50% of the activities should be formal study, with the remaining 50% being made up of informal study-related activities.
