Institution of Lighting Professionals (ILP)
Institution of Lighting Professionals is consulted by the government on a variety of topics, including laws and regulations that have an impact on the built environment, as an influential professional body. By participating in committees and providing feedback on draft legislation, reports, and consultations, they hope to make sure that the proposed measures are both practical and effective. CPD must be planned and recorded as a requirement of ILP membership. The ILP advises conducting regular reviews of their members career goals and objectives and determining their needs for training, education, and evaluation. They should document at least 30 hours per year in CPD-related activities. In 2018, the ILP randomly audited the CPD records of 25% of Engineering Council (EngC) registrants, and by 2021, has audited 100% of Registrants and continues to do so annually.
