Nurses & Midwives Council (NMC)

The NMC serves as the UK's specialist regulator for nurses, midwives, and nursing associates. Their goal is to improve everyone's health and wellbeing through compassionate, safe, and effective nursing and midwifery. They play a crucial part in ensuring the above, as they serve as the professional regulator for nearly 732, 000 nursing and midwifery practitioners. In the three years since their registration was last renewed or when they first joined the register, NMC members must have completed 35 hours of continuing professional development( CPD) that are relevant to their area of practice. Accurate records of CPD activities must be kept by all members. Records must include: a summary of the subject's relevance to practice the times the activity was carried out the total number of hours (including participation hours) identifying the Code section that is most pertinent to the activity evidence that the CPD activity was carried out
