Personal Finance Society (PFS)

The Personal Finance Society is the UK's organisation that represents the financial planning fields professionally. They have the responsibility of guiding the financial planning community toward becoming more professional through technical expertise, customer service, and moral values. The PFS works to improve its members' reputations for competence and to make sure that their own governance practices follow current best procedures. Members of the society, which is a part of Chartered Insurance Institute Group, are required to adhere to certain professional requirements set forth in the Code of Ethics. All eligible members must complete at least 35 hours of ""common CPD"" in a 12-month period, of which 21 hours must be structured as such. This requirement applies whether they are based in the UK or abroad.
