About The Royal College of Midwives (RCM)

The RCM is the only professional body serving midwifery and making them a trade union. The RCM was first founded in 1881 as The Matron's Aid or Trained Midwives Registration Society, but the new name is in use from 1947. The College's motto in 1881 was Vita Donum Dei, which translated to ""Life is a gift from God. The Royal College of Midwives (RCM) offers courses and events to support CPD.
