The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOPHTH)
According to the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, everybody should have an opportunity to receive exceptional eye care. They advocate for quality in the practise of ophthalmology by setting standards for ophthalmologist training, education, and assessment, as well as promoting advancement and creativity throughout the ocular community. They are the sole professional membership organisation for medically qualified ophthalmologists as well as those pursuing specialty training to become ophthalmologists. The CPD plan follows a 5-year cycle of CPD activity in which 250 credits must be accumulated. Every participant is expected to earn 50 credits each year. There are 4 categories, which need to be considered: -INTERNAL CLINICAL AND ACADEMIC (min 10 POINTS) -EXTERNAL CLINICAL AND ACADEMIC (min20 POINTS) -SELF-DIRECTED CLINICAL AND ACADEMIC (min 5 POINTS) -PROFESSIONAL & MANAGERIAL (min 5 points)
