Why is accreditation important in this industry?
✅ Professional Recognition: CPD accreditation enhances the professional standing of individuals within the finance and accounting sectors. Accredited CPD activities are often recognised by professional bodies and employers, reinforcing the commitment of individuals to ongoing learning and development.
✅ Regulatory Compliance: Many regulatory bodies in the finance and accounting fields require professionals to meet certain yearly CPD requirements to maintain their licenses or certifications. CPD accreditation ensures that the activities undertaken align with the standards set by the regulating authorities.
How many CPD Credits do accounts need?
CPD Credits are what accountants and other professionals use to track the amount of CPD hours they complete to log with their employers or professional body.
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants states that "Most members will follow the CPD unit route and need to complete 40 units of CPD annually" This means that accountants should be undertaking 40 hours of annual CPD training, whether that be taking courses, attending events, taking part in workshops or anything that allows them to develop their skills.
How do I get my Accounts and Finance Courses Accredited?
Let's take a look at the accreditations services we offer for the finance and accounting industry:
Step 1: Provider Approval The first step is to approve an organisation, such as an accounting firm or financial consultancy, as an approved CPD provider. This process ensures that the organisation adheres to the required standards and practices for professional development in the accounting and finance sector. Once approved, the organisation receives a certificate, an official CPD provider logo, and a unique provider number, all at no cost.
Step 2: Activity Accreditation This step involves accrediting specific training courses or educational activities related to accounting and finance. These could include courses on tax legislation, financial modeling, audit techniques or corporate finance, for example.
Accreditation benefits include listing the course on The CPD Register, granting the provider the authority to award CPD credits to participants, and affirming the high quality of the course through a verifiable logo.
Step 3: Trainer Accreditation In this stage, individual trainers or educators specialising in finance and accounting subjects can seek accreditation.
This accreditation recognises and displays their expertise in delivering high-quality, effective training in their field.
Accredited trainers receive a Trainer ID Card, a certificate, the right to use a designated CPD logo, and inclusion on The CPD register. These accreditations are typically valid for 3 years, underscoring the trainer's commitment to ongoing professional development in the accounting and finance industry.
