The CPD Group: Member Update

Through our Member Report mechanism and subsequent investigation, we are issuing the following public notice regarding the unauthorised and fraudulent use of The CPD Group name, branding and accreditation terminology by the following organisation:

Organisation Name:Care Learning (trading name of Xpress Health IE Ltd / Xpress Health UK Ltd)

Website:www.care-learning.com

Approved CPD Provider Number: N/A - Care Learning has never held Approved Provider status with The CPD Group

Nature of Report:Fraudulent use of The CPD Group name, branding and accreditation claims on learner certificates and course marketing materials

Background

Care Learning is a digital training platform operated by Xpress Health, delivering e-learning courses primarily to the health and social care sector. At no point has Care Learning held Approved Provider status or any form of CPD accreditation with The CPD Group.

The CPD Group first became aware of the unauthorised use of our name and branding in late 2025, following a report received via our Member Report mechanism. At that time, Care Learning was found to be displaying The CPD Group's "Accredited Activity" badge on learner certificates and referencing fabricated CPD credit numbers that do not correspond to any accreditation issued by us. One such fake credit number was found to link to a CPD listing registered to an entirely different, unrelated organisation.

Following formal written notice, Care Learning confirmed in December 2025 that all use of our branding had ceased. That assurance proved to be false.

In May 2026, following further evidence of ongoing misuse - including The CPD Group's name and "Approved Provider" wording appearing on course listings on the Care Learning website - a second formal notice was issued, with explicit reference to passing off, trademark infringement and misleading commercial practices under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. A second written assurance was received on 18 May 2026, confirming all references had been removed. That assurance has also proved to be false.

In July 2026, The CPD Group received a report from an employer in the care sector whose candidate had submitted a Care Learning certificate for the course Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), dated 21 June 2026 - more than one month after the second written assurance of removal - bearing The CPD Group name, the "Approved Provider" designation and a fabricated CPD credit reference number. The badge design on this certificate differed from those used previously, indicating that new fraudulent branding had been actively created.

This is not a case of legacy material or administrative error. It is a documented pattern of deliberate conduct, carried out on multiple occasions and despite repeated formal warnings.

Important Notice to Learners and Employers

The CPD Group has never issued any certificate, credit number, accreditation badge or Approved Provider designation to Care Learning or any associated Xpress Health entity.

If you or a member of your team receives a Care Learning certificate that references The CPD Group, "Approved Provider" status, or any CPD credit number purportedly issued by us, please be aware that this certificate does not hold CPD Accreditation from The CPD Group, and the accreditation claim it makes is not valid.

We are aware that courses affected include, but may not be limited to, subjects in the following areas:

•      Safeguarding Adults and Children

•      Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)

•      Infection Control and Clinical Management

These are subjects with direct implications for workplace safety and regulated care environments. We would strongly encourage employers in the care sector to verify the accreditation status of any certificate before relying upon it for staff competency or compliance purposes.

Any CPD accreditation can be verified free of charge via The CPD Register.

Report This to Us

If you have received a Care Learning certificate bearing The CPD Group name, or if you are an employer who has accepted such a certificate, please report this to us directly at thecpd.group/report-cpd. Your report helps us build a complete picture of the extent of this activity and supports the action we are taking.

The CPD Group takes all reports from members of the public, learners and employers extremely seriously. Protecting the integrity of CPD accreditation - and the learners who rely upon it - is central to everything we do.
